Scout Saturday will be observed at Matthews United Methodist Church on February 9th. We will participate in the 6:00 p.m. service . Please have all your girls there by 5:30 for line up and instructions. After the service they have a fellowship and cookies for everyone.
We ask for Scouts to attend so that the members of the church can see the size of the scouting program. The girls can all sit together during the service. We usually have the older girls carry the flags and do the scripture readings. The younger troops can lead the congregation in the Christian pledge and the pledge to the American flag. We do this as a group so one child won't be singled out.
We ask that they are in uniform with khaki, blue, or brown pants or full uniform. No jeans please.
If your faith is different and you would feel better attending your church or temple, we ask that you attend in uniform on that weekend.
